The department features a comprehensive approach that treats preoperative, surgical and postsurgical recovery experiences with exceptionally qualified and trained professionals all charged to deliver the highest level of patient care with dignity, compassion and respect. The goal is to give superior care and return the patient to a normal life as quickly as possible.
The hospital's surgical services department is a comprehensive unit focused on safety and quality of our procedural areas. Care is provided for a variety of conditions. The department includes the following:
Operating room: Three surgical suites, all of which accommodate surgical procedures for both inpatients and ambulatory patients.
Post-anesthesia care unit (PACU): Three observation bays where specially trained nurses attend to patients who have received general or regional anesthesia.
Endoscopy: One procedurel room and eight recovery bays to accommodate gastric procedures such as endoscopic retrograde colangiopancreatography (ERCP), esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy.
Short procedure unit: 12 presurgical/recovery bays.
Preadmission testing (PAT): Dedicated nurses focus on the patient's care before surgery to assist the patient to prepare for the procedure.
- ENT (ear, nose, throat).
- General surgery.
- Pain management clinic.
